Job Description
The University of Mississippi’s National Center for Physical Acoustics is seeking a Research Associate to assist in performing research for a large research program. The candidate will have duties that include creating long and short range plans and objectives based on cost, schedule, and technical requirements; providing technical assistance and research support to identify opportunities, requirements, and available resources; creating technical proposals and reports for sponsored programs. Additionally, the candidate will manage all fiscal affairs of sponsored projects; establishing and maintaining policies and procedures related to the fiscal operations; ensuring compliance with University of Mississippi policies and procedures and funding agencies guidelines; serving as liaison with outside agencies, such as Government agencies, public companies and other universities, and the University’s departments. In order to accomplish the fiscal responsibilities, this position will work closely with the Research Administrative Coordinator.

Additionally, the candidate will manage all fiscal affairs of sponsored projects.
Minimum Education/Experience
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Physics, Engineering or other related scientific field. In addition, experience in technical project management with particular emphasis on Federally-funded programs is preferred but not required.

Salary/Wage Information
The salary range is $60,000 – $70,000 (actual salary will depend on experience and qualifications). Hourly rate or salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and departmental budget. Note: Unclassified positions (faculty, executives, researchers and coaches) do not have established salary ranges.
